Ephemerality in concessive subordinators. Evidence from the history of English

ELC4 aims to provide postgraduate students with an opportunity to present and discuss their research in an informal and intellectually stimulating setting. We welcome proposals for papers characterized by an empirical, cognitive-functional outlook on the study of language and communication; they may cover fields as diverse as grammar and morphosyntax, language change and historical linguistics, sociolinguistics, psycholinguistics, speech and language disorders, discourse analysis and pragmatics, lexicology and semantics, contrastive and corpus linguistics, and linguistics applied to the teaching and acquisition of first and second languages.
