SESBE VIII intends to be a forum for discussion and interaction for the Spanish community of evolutionary biologists. Evolutionary biology is such an exciting field of investigation, with novel findings and ideas constantly flowing from scientific research. One of the main characteristics of evolutionary biology as a science is its high degree of interdisciplinarity, making it a stimulating field for interchanging ideas between people from different backgrounds: genetics, paleontology, zoology, botany, behavioral ecology, development, philosophy, etc. From the Organizing Committee, we have tried to represent this plurality as much as possible, as well as making a balanced program of oral and poster communications.
